Education Spring 1962 B. Sc in Chemical Engineering at Ohio State University.

Winter 1962 M. Sc. In Chemical Engineering at Ohio State University.

The engineering program at Ohio State was 5 years. In the 5th year I took graduate level courses that applied to both the M. Sc and B. Sc degrees. I received the B. Sc degree in the Spring, performed a research project in the Summer, and received the M. Sc degree in the Winter.

Experience

2005 to 2006
Provided a detailed comprehensive preliminary process design to make calcium nitrite for Abocol in Cartagena, Columbia, SA.
 

1997 to 2005
Started Edward T. Woodruff, Inc. to provide the chemical engineering services of process design, process control, and process engineering to the inorganic and organic chemical industries.
In the Fall of 1996, Grace management decided to close the Grace Research Division since it was no longer needed and did not make a fit in the overall Grace organization. I took the early retirement that was offered. I also accepted the opportunity to work as a consultant to Grace Construction Products to complete the process design to the calcium nitrite plant we were planning to build in Augusta, GA and to provide process engineering support to it.

1974 to 1996
At the W. R. Grace Research Division started, staffed, and managed the Engineering Consulting Department. Hired top notch chemical engineers to develop/design processes for pending research projects. Also mechanical engineers to do specialty equipment design for research projects requiring such.

1971 to 1973
Ecotrol wholly owned subsidiary of W. R. Grace. Managed the engineering and manufacturing for porous bed electrochemical cells used in waste water treatment.

1962 to 1970
Started work at the W. R. Grace Research Division September 5, 1962. The Process Development Department. Later supervisor and then manager of this hands on process equipment related department.
